Tileyourself. KLM Interactive Facebook Campaign
KLM has emerged as one of the foremost pioneers in using cutting edge social media techniques among its rivals in the aviation industry. The latest campaign coming from “The Flying Dutchman” proves to be no less intriguing and effective… even in its early stages. Using a Facebook app the airline lets you create your own profile picture in the traditional Dutch Deltftware blue & white style, that can ultimately end up on the fuselage of one of KLM’s Boeing 777s as a special livery celebrating the Dutch heritage around the world. Brilliant idea and even more spectacular realization. It’s been less than a week since the campaign was launched and you can already see a plane full of profile tiles on the offical campaign website – Tileyourself. The Facebook app is fun to use and the resulting pictures are alomost a work of art. Well done KLM – another social media example to follow.
